It's hard to believe a year has already passed since we first introduced Genealogy Genie AI to the world. In September 2024, at the 36th International Congress of Genealogical and Heraldic Sciences in Boston, we unveiled our vision for AI-powered genealogical research with nervous anticipation. The response from that initial audience gave us the confidence to continue building something truly revolutionary.

Today, we're thrilled to announce that our next release will be our first Release Candidate. After a summer sprint filled with long nights and countless cups of coffee, we're finally ready to remove that "Beta" label.

What This Milestone Means for You

The transition from Beta to Release Candidate isn't just about changing a label. It represents a fundamental maturity in the platform that makes Genealogy Genie AI ready for serious genealogical research. We've achieved this through three critical areas of development:

• Enhanced Usability – We've redesigned key interfaces to keep you focused on your research, eliminating unnecessary navigation and complexity.

• Improved Performance – Loading times have been dramatically reduced through advanced browser-side indexing, similar to technology used by Office 365 and Google Docs.

• Refined Data Quality – Our GEDCOM import process now handles even more nuances from different genealogy services, with smarter date estimation logic that prevents impossible scenarios.

The Summer Sprint

For the entire month of August and most of September, our team went heads-down on maturing the features you've been asking for. Every piece of feedback from our early adopters was carefully reviewed and incorporated into this release. Your input has been invaluable in shaping Genealogy Genie AI into the tool it needs to be.

Looking Ahead

As we celebrate our first birthday, we're already looking forward to

year two. Our fall and winter focus will be on introducing AI agents—sophisticated systems that can collect, manage, and automatically review results to yield insights that rival even the most experienced genealogists.
